Day One:
Leadership in turbulent times
You will focus on the turbulent contexts for contemporary leadership, analysing real-life examples related to the future of work (e.g. short-term contracts, zero-hours contracts, and the rise of the “precariat”) and discuss issues around the future of democratic global governance (e.g. Brexit, populism).
You will reflect on globalisation and multiculturalism, exploring also non-Western views of leadership.
You will assess your own leadership style and preferences using the 4-CAPS+ Leadership Framework.
Day Two:
Developing leadership opportunities
- You will focus on the opportunities to develop positive leadership in a changing world and on your leadership identity by examining the challenges of leading across boundaries and of bringing people together.
- You will learn how collaboration, or in some cases, conflict and constructive dissent, can support positive leadership.
- You will practice using different leadership techniques such as coaching, mentoring, feedback, delegation, etc.
Day Three:
Negotiating as a leadership practice
- You will understand the cultural dimensions and dynamics of negotiation and how they impact leaders.
- You will learn the skills and strategies to negotiate effectively for yourself and others.
- You will practice negotiating in various scenarios such as salary, promotion, resources, contracts, etc.
- You will receive feedback and coaching on your negotiation performance and style.
Day Four:
Communicating as a leader
- You will gain the skills and confidence to communicate clearly, persuasively, and authentically as a leader.
- You will learn how to craft and deliver impactful messages that inspire followers, influence stakeholders, and achieve results.
- You will develop your strategic communication skills to manage crisis, conflict, and change.
- You will enhance your presentation skills and personal brand as a leader.
Day Five:
Developing as a leader
- You will rethink your personal leadership style and explore and experiment with new approaches.
- You will evaluate a range of methods and resources for developing as a leader in a changing world.
- You will create a personal development plan that aligns with your vision, goals, and context.
- You will celebrate your achievements and learning with your fellow participants.
