The world’s population is increasingly moving to urban areas. Accordingly to UN, by 2050, it is projected that two-thirds of the global population will live in cities. Furthermore, cities are significant contributors to environmental degradation, including air pollution, resource consumption, and greenhouse gas emissions. This unprecedented urbanization and to mitigate the impact of urbanization on the environment demands, a new approaches to urban development, sustainable urban planning, green infrastructure, and renewable energy sources to ensure that cities can support and enhance the quality of life for their inhabitants.
